Stormy Weather – Adapting to a Changing World 780x439

The world and its weather is changing. Record temperatures have once again scorched the US and Europe this summer, with more than 1,000 people dying of heat-related causes in Portugal while wildfires rip across parts of Europe and North Africa.

Against that backdrop, and with policymakers preparing to discuss the urgent issue of climate change at the COP 27 meeting in Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh, one thing has become crystal clear: individuals, organizations and communities throughout the world must take urgent steps to adapt to extreme-weather events.

But what does climate adaptation mean in practice? This podcast would take a close look at what effective adaptation to climate change should look like, how collaboration between public and private sectors can help accelerate action, the role insurers can play as well as how innovation can reduce risk while building resilience in the form of quick recovery from disaster.
